Barracuda swimmers qualify for first Western Canadians

Josiah Binnema and Harrison Lagzdin qualified for their first Speedo Western Canadian Championship in Winnipeg from Feb. 16 to 19. The two Prince George Barracuda swimmers earned the berth at the Edmonton Keyano Invitational last weekend.

The two Prince George Barracuda swimmers earned the berth at the Edmonton Keyano Invitational last weekend. There were 22 members of the Barracudas' club competing in Edmonton where the team placed third out of 12 clubs, setting 71 personal best times and earning 14 gold medals, eight silver medals and 10 bronze medals.

Binnema qualified for the Western Canadian event in the 200-metre backstroke, while Lagzdin earned his spot in the 200-metre butterfly.
