A worker spent three hours inside the cab after the crane he was operating came into contact with a B.C. Hydro transmission line near the Husky Oil refinery on Tuesday evening.

The worker, employed by a contractor working in a utility corridor near the refinery, remained inside the cab until it was safe to exit and no one was injured, Husky spokeswoman Kim Guttormson said.

Hydro spokesman Bob Gammer said the incident occurred sometime around 6 p.m. and disrupted service to nearby industrial customers.

WorkSafeBC was called in to investigate the incident.
