Prince George Fire Rescue is pointing to a wood-burning stove as the source of a fire that destroyed a garage Thursday morning.
Firefighters found the building fully involved and the fire emitting a great amount of black smoke when they arrived on the scene in the 7700 block of Opal Drive at about 9:30 a.m.
"A fast attack of the fire was able to knock down and extinguish the fire quickly," PGFR assistant chief Kevin Scobie said.
A dozen firefighters from three halls were called to the scene. No injuries reported and loss is estimated at $40,000.
