A Prince George woman who was found this summer in a truck stolen in the Okanagan was sentenced Monday.
Rebecca Susanne Rahkola, 26, was sentenced to 24 days in jail for possession of stolen property over $5,000.
In late September, William Nicolas Rahkola, 22, was prohibited from driving for one year, sentenced to 53 days in jail and assessed $400 in victim surcharges for flight from a peace officer and possession of stolen property over $5,000 from the same incident.
The two were arrested on July 15.
An RCMP officer attempted to pull over a vehicle travelling south on Foothills Boulevard, but the driver of the green Ford F-150 failed to stop, police said at the time. Officers did not pursue the truck, due to safety concerns, but confirmed it had been stolen from Vernon three days before.
About 15 minutes later, officers located and arrested the two near Westwood Drive and Ferry Avenue. The truck was also recovered.
Rebecca Rahkola has remained in custody since her arrest. Nicolas Rahkola was released on bail the day after his arrest but by Aug. 1 was back in custody where he remained.
On Monday, Rebecca Rahkola was also sentenced to 30 days in jail for one count of breach of probation and to 10 days in jail for another count of breach of probation. She was also assessed $500 in victim surcharges.
