A 45-year-old woman was killed in a snowmobiling crash in the Yanks Peak area on Sunday afternoon.
RCMP gave little further detail on what happened but did say she was in a group of about 30 sledders participating in a ride in the area about two hours east of Williams Lake.
Officials were notified shortly after 1 p.m. via a SPOT beacon.
Two people who were on the ride immediately administered first aid at the scene until ambulance personnel could take over.
"Unfortunately upon arrival at the hospital, it was determined that the woman had succumbed to her injuries," RCMP said.
Police, who are continuing their investigation, will not release the woman's name.
