Previously convicted of selling drugs out of a local motel, a Prince George woman is now suspected of committing an armed robbery at a local convenience store.

Prince George RCMP said Monday that Shaylynn Bethany Ghostkeeper, 25, was arrested after police received a report of the incident on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

Ghostkeeper was subsequently arrested at the corner of 17th Avenue and Juniper Street, just a few blocks away from the 7-11 at 1720 Queensway Ave., and a search warrant was executed on a Juniper Street home where police found evidence believed to be from the offence.

Charges of robbery, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose have been approved against Ghostkeeper, who remained in custody as of Monday.

She is next scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 10 where the court will hear an application to revoke the bail she was granted following her arrest in another matter in July for which she faces charges of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of stolen property.

In December 2012, Ghostkeeper was sentenced to 80 days in jail for trying to sell drugs out of the Ranch Motel at 1656 Victoria Ave.

Small quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana and drug trafficking paraphernalia were located in the residence as well as a replica hand gun, police said at the time of her arrest in July 2011.

Shortly after the arrest, a volunteer clean up crew from Drug Awareness Recovery Team conducted a clean up of the area around what had become a notorious crime spot, cutting the weeds to remove potential hiding spots for drugs.

The building, which was subsequently renamed the Homeland Inn and then the Willow Inn, is now up for sale after city council suspended the operation's business licence in April for a year.
