Now that we have hit winter conditions, B.C. Bus North is changing its schedule. Buses are now scheduled to arrive earlier, and waiting times and layover points are being reduced, to make sure trips are completed as much as possible during daylight.
The changes to the schedule take effect Nov. 5.
Travel days during the week remain the same, but the following changed will occur:
- Prince George – Valemount: departs at 8:30 a.m. (not 7 a.m.) and arrives in Valemount at 12:25 p.m. (not 11:05 a.m.)
- Valemount – Prince George: departs Valemount at 1:25 p.m. (not 3 p.m.) and arrives at 5:20 p.m. (not 7:05 p.m.)
Prince George – Fort St. John:
- Schedule times are in Mountain Standard Time between Fort St. John and Chetwynd
- Fort St. John terminus moves from 100 Avenue at 100 Street to 99 Avenue at 100 Street
- Departure times at most points en route are earlier, reducing overall travel time by half an hour
Dawson Creek – Fort Nelson:
- Schedule times are all Mountain Standard Time, and departure times are earlier
- Fort Nelson terminus moves from Phoenix Theatre to the Recreation Centre
- Fort St. John stops move from 100 Street and 100 Avenue to 100 Street at 99 Avenue
Prince George – Prince Rupert:
- Leaves each end at 8 a.m., which is unchanged, but arrives at 7:25 p.m., 25 minutes earlier
- Some departure times en route are earlier
- The stop in Telkwa moves from the post office to the one-stop shop
There are numerous other changes in the new schedule, so customers should visit bcbus.ca/schedules-and-fares/. Make sure to be at the stop at least 10 minutes ahead of time.
