A man is in hospital in stable condition and two people were arrested after a stabbing incident Wednesday in Williams Lake.

Laura Lee Taylor, born 1973, and Daniel Myles Cahoose, born 1990, were scheduled to appear in provincial court for a bail hearing this afternoon. A count of aggravated assault has been approved against Taylor, according to court records.

On Wednesday, shortly before 5 p.m., RCMP were called to a motel on 7th Ave in the city where it was reported that a person had been stabbed multiple times.

Police quickly identified two possible suspects and went to a home on 2nd Avenue, where it was believed both suspects had fled following the assault.

Due to the seriousness of the assault, and evidence observed at and in the area of the home, police called for the assistance of the Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services, as well as closed several streets in the area to traffic.

After several hours, an adult man and an adult woman, were arrested without further incident.
