WEEKEND UPDATE: Still time to grab some holiday spirit in Prince George

Looking for some stuff to do that is holiday-centric? As we approach the big day there's still a few things to do in Prince George to get you in the holiday mood. There's even a chance to jump in the lake for a good cause.

Looking for some stuff to do that is holiday-centric?

As we approach the big day there's still a few things to do in Prince George to get you in the holiday mood. Some are the old favourites that have come back from Covid restrictions and now there’s a few new trendies to go along with them. There's even a chance to jump in the lake for a good cause.

Whatever your jam here’s a few suggestions.

Ski with Santa at the Hart Ski Hill Friday, Dec. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. which is hosted by the Hart Highlands Winter Club at 3740 Winslow Drive. For more information visit https://www.hartskihill.com/

Celebration of Lights 2022 presented at the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum, 859 River Road, will go Sunday, Dec. 18 to Friday, Dec. 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Dec. 27 to 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. for this in-person walk through the museum park. There's kids' crafts, a choir singing, offerings of free hot chocolate and goodies, a band performing and you can catch an early glimpse of the fun as the Rose Novak Collection of lighted displays will be seen along River Road. Light Up The Orchard at Northern Lights Estate Winery is fully lit now until Dec. 31. This is a walking tour of the orchard filled with thousands of Christmas lights, festive holiday decorations and photo stations to snap the perfect holiday pic. Light up is for all ages so bring everyone along. The event goes Nov. 24 to 27, then Nov. 30 to Dec. 23, Dec. 26 to 31 from 4:20 to 9 p.m. Pick your start time (stay as along as you like) and get tickets at Northern Lights Winery Light Up the Orchard event.

Candy Cane Lane is something every Prince George resident should see and it's all set up right now for your viewing pleasure. It’s a whole neighbourhood that gets together to do over-the-top decorations in their front yards where people can cruise by in their cars or walk the neighbourhood to take it all in. The fun starts on Mckenzie Avenue off Upland Street.

Polar Bear Dip at Ness Lake Bible Camp on Jan. 1, 2023 it in its 22nd year and is looking for the crazies who would like to participate in order to raise funds for the Camper Scholarship Fund that helps offset the fee for campers in need. The event starts at 1:30 p.m. with prizes for most money raised and best costumes are presented and at 2 p.m. participants who have paid the fee of $25 will take the plunge in the icy waters of Ness Lake.
