A valuable piece of industrial equipment has been stolen.
Thieves targeted a diesel welder on a trailer parked in the front yard of a property in the 1500 block of Pearson Avenue. According to police, it had been chained to a tree but the thieves used bolt cutters to snip the chain.
The stolen welder is a Lincoln Electric, model K24052, 500 amp unit owned by United Rentals. The body is made of aluminum and has a shiny aluminum finish. It is four feet high and five feet long.
It was mounted on a powder coated black utility trailer which had white magnum wheels. The B.C. license plate on the trailer was UNR-68D.
The welder and trailer are together valued at approximately $16,000.00.
