Parents are being encouraged to visit a website designed to provide the tools to safely negotiate the internet.
Available at www.thedoorthatsnotlocked.ca, the site provides information on protecting youth from online luring, the growing issue of sexting, as well as how to talk to children about healthy relationships and appropriate boundaries.
Supported by the Canadian Centre for Child Protection, the site also includes sections for teachers and for children and youth.
Today is International Safer Internet Day.
