Firefighting crews are using cooler temperatures and rain that fell in some areas during the past weekend to contain major fires burning in north and central B.C.
More than 600 firefighters and other personnel, including air crews, are working on the two biggest fires closest to Prince George, also the two largest fires in the province. The two fires - the Pelican Lake fire southwest of Prince George, and the Binta Lake fire west of the city - now cover a combined 75,000 hectares.
