I Heart Tattoos in Prince George is temporarily closing after a COVID-19 test involving an employee.

A local tattoo parlour is temporarily closing after an employee recently tested positive for COVID-19.

I Heart Tattoos says it's set to re-open Jan. 25 after possible exposure to other team members in the shop.

"Since our artists are in physical contact for extended periods of time with you, we feel it is best to take the extra precaution and stay home," a social media post reads.

It adds everyone that was at high risk of exposure has already been personally contacted.

Clients booked between now and Jan. 25 should have received an automatic text message from I Heart Tattoos letting them know of the closure and rescheduling of appointments.

The shop encourages anyone that did not receive a notification to send them a message as soon as possible.

'We will not be rescheduling anyone until we are back to work, but we will be working on a plan to keep up with the high volume of messages."

"Don't forget! Social distancing, washing hands and wearing a mask are our best line of defense when all three are being done together!"

As of this publication (Jan. 13), Northern Heath has recorded 2,606 COVID-19 infections since March last year, which has included 43 deaths.

There are currently 16 people admitted into critical care among 43 total hospitalizations and 2,049 recoveries.
