A Foothills water main operation may temporarily cause cloudy water for some Hart residences.
City crews are closing a valve today in preparation for a new water main tie-in that will improve water service for the Hart Highway area.
The operation has resulted in dirty-looking or cloudy water for some residences in the Hart neighbourhood. The dirty water is caused by water flows changing directions within the distribution water main.
The Foothills water main project will ultimately enhance the reliability of the City water system and improve water service in the Hart.
Residents who experience dirty or cloudy water coming from their taps are asked to run a single tap, preferably in the basement until the water runs clear. The cloudiness may take an hour or two to clear up.
