Other than to say the investigators are now back in Vancouver, a spokesman for the Independent Investigations Office (IIO) had little to say Tuesday about a police-involved serious injury late last week that a team was sent to investigate.
Because it's private medical information, IIO spokesman Owen Court said he could not comment on the extent of injuries for a male who fell eight metres down an an embankment while being pursued.
Court also did not elaborate on why police had been called to an Upland Street apartment at about 12:05 a.m. Friday.
"At this time I do not have any further information to release on that case," Court said.
It's the second investigation into a Prince George incident the IIO has launched since it opened its doors on Sept. 10, 2012 to investigate police-related deaths and serious injuries.
On that day, Greg Matters, a former soldier in the Canadian military who had been suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, was shot by police following a two-day standoff in Pineview. His family has said he was not armed with a firearm when he was killed.
The IIO's investigation into that incident remains ongoing.
