Warming centres open in Prince George

Daytime warming centres are open in Prince George this week, as the temperature drops into the -20s.

The BC Schizophrenia Society and Natsoolyis - Central Interior Native Health Society are offering daytime warming centres this week, as temperatures are expected to plummet into the -20s.

Environment Canada is predicting nighttime lows between -24 C and -29 C between today and Thursday, with windchills in the -30s, with daytime highs ranging from -12 C to -17 C.

The BC Schizophrenia Society, located at 1139 Sixth Ave., is open for people to warm up between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily from Tuesday to Thursday.

Natsoolyis - Central Interior Native Health Society, located at 393 George St, will be open on Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
