A man who was wanted on an outstanding warrant has been apprehended.

Richard James Harris, 33, was located Wednesday in the back yard of a Crysdale Drive home in Mackenzie and arrested after a short foot pursuit, RCMP said.

As of Dec. 5, Harris had been wanted on a B.C.-wide warrant for breaching his probation.

In December 2011, Harris was convicted of uttering threats, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, and possession of a firearm contrary to an order and was sentenced to two years in jail and two years probation.

Since then he has been convicted of breaching his probation three times and of breaching an undertaking once. He also now faces an additional charge of breach of probation and a charge of possessing a firearm contrary to an order.
