A man wanted for allegedly attacking and seriously injuring three people outside a Prince George nightspot late last week has been apprehended.
Jason Dennis Townsend, 36, was arrested near Dease Lake, the small remote community 973 km north of Prince George, RCMP said Wednesday after police received a number of tips from the public when they issued a request Monday for help to find the suspect.
Townsend is suspected of attacking two men and one woman outside Alibis, in the National Hotel at First and Dominion, during the early morning hours on Friday. All three were taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Townsend is well known to police and the courts and has been linked to organized crime.
Provincial Crown counsel has approved two counts of assault causing bodily harm and one count of aggravated assault against Townsend, who remains in custody.
