Community Partners Addressing Homelessness is seeking volunteers to help with this year's count of homeless people in the city.

It will take place over 24 hours, starting at 6 a.m. on Mon., April 18.

Surveys will take place within shelters, transitional housing facilities and drop-in centres.

In addition unsheltered, or street, surveying will take place at set outdoor areas of the Bowl including the downtown core.

Under local initiatives, counts were held in 2008 and 2010. Funding for the latest one is coming from the federal government's homeless partnering strategy and the United Way of Northern B.C.

To volunteer, contact Ashley Thandi at [email protected] by March 24.
