If you were looking for a little more positivity in your newsfeed, look no further than the BC Wildlife Park's Facebook page.
A video shared on Thursday (April 23) in saying thanks to the community "for doing their part to keep our communities safe and healthy."
But it's not the staff members who are doing the thanking. It's the park animals.
Appearances are made by the grizzly bears, raccoons and swans, to name a few.
In its post, the BC Wildlife Park says the outpour of love and support it has received from the community "has been nothing short of amazing."
"We are so grateful, and so thankful for the words of encouragement, financial contributions and incredible fundraising initiatives that so many individuals have started on our behalf. Your support means so much to us!"
Staff note their small team continue to work hard to ensure the park remains in great shape for when it's able to reopen. In the meantime, they've created more educational content for guests, to enjoy from the comfort of their home. (You can join zookeepers on Sunday, April 26 at 2 p.m. for a Facebook live talk, featuring Sijja, Marraq and AJ the Arctic wolves.)
Castanet has reached out to Glenn Grant, the park's general manager, for further comment on how the non-profit is holding up. Castanet will update this story with his comments when we hear back.
