The British Columbia Northern Exhibition (BCNE) returned once again this past August to captivate and entertain more than 20,000 visitors over four days — from Thursday, Aug. 14 to Sunday, Aug. 17.
Organized by the Prince George Agricultural and Historical Association, the 2025 BCNE embraced the theme Come and Knock on Our Door, honouring the exhibition’s agricultural beginnings in 1912 and the spirit of hospitality that has shaped it for more than a century.
Exhibition Park was transformed into a lively fairground featuring midway rides, live shows, 80 indoor vendors, 15 food trucks, and a packed schedule of equine competitions.
Nearby, the 4-H competitions attracted crowds to see the latest in agricultural and livestock.
New attractions included a caricature artist Ted Kooling and returning favourites like magician Clinton Gray. Equine events spanned all four days, alongside two dog shows — including the ever-popular SuperDogs, which thrilled crowds daily with their rescue-dog agility stunts, and stock dog demonstrations held on opening day.
Friday night brought a new twist: a casino night and Ale Festival, hosted in partnership with Spirit of the North to raise funds for both organizations. Guests also enjoyed a quirky Mrs. Roper Romp costume contest — a nod to the Three’s Company sitcom character — during the Saturday night festivities.
Heritage Lane offered visitors a step back in time, showcasing historic trades, pioneer life, and booths from local heritage organizations. On the main stage, performers included the Legends Live tribute group, Appaloosa Band, and regional talents like Chris Godwin and Rick Stavely.
