Prince George RCMP have identified a "person of interest" in a trio of vehicle fires that broke out in the VLA neighbourhood early Friday morning.
Firefighters were first called to a 2300-block Quince Street duplex shortly after midnight to find the home's carport engulfed in flames.
The blaze not only struck four vehicles in the carport but spread into the home's attic and melted some siding of a neighbouring home, Prince George Fire Rescue said, causing an estimated $120,000 damage.
Firefighters also had to deal with downed power lines but were able to quickly bring the fire under control once on the scene. No one was injured and several pets in the homes were also unharmed.
At about 1:45 a.m., they were called to the 1900 block of Strathcona Avenue to find one vehicle on fire and roughly a half hour later, they received another report of a vehicle fire further along Strathcona.
Upon arrival, they found one vehicle engulfed and another in the process of catching fire.
All three have been deemed suspicious. The suspect's name was not released Friday.
"The RCMP recognize the public concern for these fires and believe there is no further risk to the public," Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass said.
