Vehicle fire engulfs carport in Hart

Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire early on Wednesday morning at a residence in the Hart.

A media release issued by the City of Prince George said fire crews arrived at 4:55 a.m. to find a carport and vehicle engulfed in flames at 2850 Nixon St. The fire started inside a vehicle in the carport and spread to the attic of the attached home.

Crews managed to contain the fire, limiting further damage to the house. The carport and vehicle were a complete loss, according to the release. No other residences were impacted and there were no reported injuries.

According to Prince George Fire Chief John Iverson, the fire did not appear suspicious. Iverson estimated the damage totalled $75,000.
