A Terrace youth with an alleged penchant for thieving from cars has been arrested by Mounties in Prince George.

Allan Douglas Nigh, 20, is a former resident of the Skeena city and now lives in the northern capital. On Friday, provincial Crown prosecutors approved multiple charges against him stemming, said police, from a Bait Car incident and several other cases.

Prince George RCMP media liaison Cpl. Craig Douglass said Nigh is the prime suspect in a July 27 break-in of one of the city's decoy automobiles. "The vehicle was not stolen. The video shows a suspect breaking into the Bait Car. Investigators believe the suspect is Nigh," he explained.

Additionally, a GPS was one of the items stolen during the break-in of a vehicle parked in the 1300 block of 3rd Avenue on Aug. 9. The GPS unit was located at a local pawn shop, and through subsequent investigation, police attention turned to Nigh.

Fingerprints were found on two other invaded vehicles the same day that police suggest came from Nigh.

Nigh was arrested on Aug. 10 by a member of the RCMP Downtown Enforcement Unit who alleges he was in the process of breaking into another vehicle, this one in the 1500 block of 20th Avenue.

The court proceedings against Nigh on these allegations is scheduled to begin on Sept. 14.
