Prince George RCMP are investigating an assault that occurred on the evening of Friday, June 20.
Police say the incident happened shortly before 7 p.m. on the 1900 block of Strathcona Avenue, where a man was approached by a large group of youth.
An altercation broke out and the man was assaulted. Police say he was struck in the head with a machete at one point during the attack.
The victim sustained several non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by Emergency Health Services.
Witnesses identified a group of three youth suspects. One 15-year-old was arrested shortly after the incident and remains in custody pending his next court appearance.
Two other suspects remain at large and the RCMP is asking the public for assistance.
“We are still looking for the other two suspects and are asking that if anyone has any information on who they are or where they are now, they contact the Prince George RCMP’s non-emergency line with that information,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, media relations officer for the detachment.
The investigation is ongoing.
