A northern B.C. woman was all smiles after scoring $50,000 this week!
Vanderhoof's Patricia Winch took home the big prize on a Bingo Blast scratch-and-win ticket and recently claimed her price through the BC Lottery Corporation's (BCLC) alternative prize-claim process.
She purchased her ticket at the 7-Eleven on Burrard Street, but didn't scratch her ticket until she was at home.
“I noticed that I only needed one more number to win the prize,” Winch says in a BCLC release.
“When I scratched the next number, my numbers came up! It took a moment to sink in.”
She says her family was the first to learn about her unexpected, five-figure win.
“I think my daughters were more excited than I was when I told them.”
Since travelling isn’t an option right now, Winch said she has her eye on purchasing a few pieces of furniture.
