An 18-year-old northern B.C. woman has been charged after a Prince George stabbing on Wednesday (Aug. 14).
Cpl. Craig Douglass says in a release that officers were called to a report of a stabbing that happened in a residence on the 1400 block, 3 Ave.
Once offers arrived, a man was found to be suffering from injuries which RCMP say were consistent of being stabbed with an edged weapon.
A female suspect fled before emergency services were called while the victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Douglass says through the investigation, the suspect was identified as Madison Rose Patrick.
Police were patrolling downtown Prince George when at roughly 5:30 p.m., the suspect was seen walking near the corner of 6 Ave. and Dominion Street.
When police tried to arrest her, she fled on foot but was caught and taken into custody.
The B.C. Prosecution Service has approved the following charges against Patrick:
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Resisting arrest
She was released on a recognizance for court on Sept. 11, 2019.
Douglass adds the suspect and victim knew each other and the incident was a result of a disagreement.
