Prince George is set to experience a stretch of hot, sunny weather over the Labour Day weekend, with temperatures remaining well above average for this time of year.
According to the latest Environment Canada forecast, the region will see mostly clear skies and daytime highs reaching the high 20s and low 30s Celsius.
The warm conditions will continue into the start of next week, with highs of 28 C on Saturday, Aug. 30, 29 C on Sunday, Aug. 31 and Monday, Sept. 1, and a peak of 33 C on Wednesday, Sept. 3.
The weather will remain dry, with clear nights and temperatures dipping to between 8 C and 12 C.
The humidity will remain moderate, with the humidex pushing temperatures into the low 30s during the day.
People — especially those taking part in strenuous outdoor activities like Monday's Labour Day Classic run, are encouraged to stay hydrated and protect themselves from the sun, especially with UV indices expected to be high throughout the weekend.
The clear skies are expected to persist through Thursday.
