A Prince George man was arrested for running a marijuana grow-operation out of a Vance Road house.

A Prince George man was arrested for running a marijuana grow-operation out of a Vance Road house.

The home in the 2600 block of Vance, a dense residential area only five blocks from an elementary school and one block from a major retail hub, was raided by RCMP late Wednesday night.

"Once inside the residence, officers located a 38-year-old male Prince George resident and approximately 300 marijuana plants in various stages of growth," said Prince George RCMP spokesman Cpl. Craig Douglass.

"Various cultivation equipment and other items related to the growing of the marijuana were also seized. The grow operation was

dismantled by the police."

The accused man was released on a "promise to appear" for court scheduled for May 16.

"This investigation is part of the Marijuana Grow Initiative, the

RCMP's national strategy to combat marijuana grow operations," Douglass said.
