Update: Fourth Avenue has reopened to traffic and other street news

Fourth Avenue between Dominion Street and George Street is now open to traffic after its closure since Dec. 4.

Fourth Avenue between Dominion and George Streets has been closed since Dec. 4 and is now open to traffic.

Work on UNBC's Wood Innovation building on Fourth Avenue which closed the street and the south sidewalk since Dec. 4 was done faster than anticipated.

The route is now open to traffic after initial reports said the section between Dominion and George street would be closed until the end of December.

  • Travel in both directions is now open.
  • The south sidewalk from Dominion Street to George Street is closed for work on the UNBC Wood Innovation building.
  • The parking along the Wood Innovation building is not available during this construction.
  • Emergency vehicles WILL have access.

Quebec Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenue

The east sidewalk will be open for pedestrian use this winter; Sixth Avenue sidewalk between Quebec Street and Dominion Street remains incomplete and closed for the winter.
