Prince George RCMP are calling off the alarm after determining it was representatives of a legitimate home security business who were knocking on doors last week.
In an update issued Wednesday afternoon, RCMP said they were contacted by representatives of Capital Security who advised it was their employees who were the source of complaints to the police.
"The Prince George RCMP have determined this company to be a legitimate home security business licenced to operate in Prince George," police said. "Business representatives are issued identification and will be able to show residents. Investigators have no remaining concerns about this company."
The update came after RCMP issued a press release Wednesday morning in response to calls of concern last week.
