In October of last year the RCMP's North District Drug Section in Prince George partnered with RCMP in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John to initiate a drug enforcement operation to target drug trafficking activities in the Peace River region.

From October to May undercover operators made purchases of drugs and infiltrated organizations that control the drug trade in that area.

The result is that 15 cocaine trafficking charges have been laid against 11 accused.

There are five people in Dawson Creek and six in Fort St. John charged with one to three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance. They range in age from 22 to 50 years old. Police also seized about $42,000 in cash and a 2006 Lincoln Navigator during the operation.

A number of the accused have been arrested and released pending court appearances, and arrest warrants have been issued for those whom police are working to locate.
