A B.C. Hydro crew was called out Friday afternoon to extract a garbage truck from beneath a power pole on Ospika Boulevard North.
Hydro spokesman Bob Gammer said the the truck had hit the pole and knocked it over. The driver called 911 and stayed in the truck while the crew and Prince George Fire Rescue attended.
There was no power outage as a result of the mishap, Gammer said, and the driver and the truck were safely removed from the spot. The pole was replaced with a new one.
