Fort Nelson high school students are receiving counselling following the loss of two of their peers in a single motor vehicle crash believed to have been caused by high speed, drugs and alcohol.

Two teenage girls aged 15 and 16 died in a single vehicle crash June 9 when the driver of a 1991 Nissan sports car lost control and overturned in a ditch on the Old Alaska Highway.

Four of five occupants in the car were ejected from the vehicle, indicating they were not wearing seat belts, said RCMP Sgt. Pat McTiernan of North District Traffic Services in Prince George.
