Two die in crash on Highway 97

Two people were killed Friday morning in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 97 north of McLeod Lake.
North District RCMP Cst. Dave Tyreman said Mackenzie RCMP were called to the scene at Bear Creek Bridge near Tudyah Lake Park about 10 km north of McLeod Lake, shortly before 7 a.m.
They found a small car had collided with a pickup truck.
The car's two occupants, both 18-year-old males and believed to be from Mackenzie, were pronounced dead at the scene while the occupants of the pickup truck were taken to hospital were taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The stretch was reopened to single-lane alternating traffic at 4:30 p.m.
The names of the victims and the circumstances surrounding the crash have not yet been released.
The Mackenzie RCMP and North District RCMP Traffic Services is asking anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them at 250-997-3288.
