An alleged confrontation involving a fake firearm in a Hart-area parking lot last week has led to charges against two people.

Tyler Dillion Toop, 20, faces one count each of dangerous driving, using an imitation firearm in committing an indictable offence and possession of a firearm, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and mischief $5,000 or under.

Kaylin Kina Cassidy, 19, faces one count each of assault causing bodily harm and mischief under $5,000 and two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

They were arrested on Thursday evening about 45 minutes after police were called to a report of an assault in a parking lot in the 2200 block of Highway 97 North, in which a firearm was reported to have been seen.

It's believed two people were sideswiped while driving in the area before the incident carried over into the parking lot where a woman was allegedly assaulted, police said.

All of those involved in the incident are known to each other, according to RCMP.
