Two people are in custody after allegedly stealing the vehicle of a Good Samaritan who had stopped to help them after they crashed their truck.
The incident occurred Wednesday at about 7 a.m. near 70 Mile House, according to North District RCMP.
The two headed north on Highway 97 and RCMP based in Williams Lake and Quesnel were alerted while the RCMP's Air 3 helicopter was deployed as were an emergency response team and police dog and handler.
"Air 3 was a crucial component in the search assisting the troops on the ground" said Williams Lake RCMP Staff Sergeant Del Byron.
The two have allegedly been involved in criminal activity in Alberta, RCMP said,
