Prince George's new mayor, Lyn Hall, is a devoted family man, but he's had sports on the brain since before he could skate. A good game might be the only thing to tear him away from spending time with his wife and kids.

Prince George's new mayor, Lyn Hall, is a devoted family man, but he's had sports on the brain since before he could skate. A good game might be the only thing to tear him away from spending time with his wife and kids. Here's a closer look at the city's new CEO.

1. Book currently on your night stand (or open on your e-reader)?

Bobby Orr's autobiography, Orr: My Story. My wife and daughters bought it for me.

2. Three things you'd take with you if you were marooned on an island?

My wife and two daughters.

3. Go-to song to lift your spirits?

No particular song, but love Rod Stewart. Just about any of his songs I listen to will lift my spirits.

4. Favourite movie/TV show?

TV Show: I've started to watch a lot of Blacklist. It's a pretty intriguing show. Movie: Well, I enjoy the Indiana Jones series.

5. What is your earliest memory?

I was very young, probably two, two-and-a-half years old and it sticks in my mind watching older kids outside of my parents window playing street hockey in Dawson Creek, wishing and hoping that I would have been old enough to go out and play with them. I don't even know if I was two. I was a pretty young kid.

6. Least favourite word?

Oh boy, I couldn't say it. My least favourite phrase is: "It can't be done." I know it's not a word but that phrase always kinds of resonates with me.

7. Ideal vacation spot?

I love to go to Puerto Vallarta but my wife and our daughters have had some terrific times in Disneyland, so if I was to choose one that would probably be it - with my wife and my girls in Disneyland. And you know what, that would probably be true today and they're going to be 21 years old. They just absolutely love it. As they say it's a magical place and you walk through the gates and it's completely different.

8. Favourite band/musician and/or favourite album?

Rod Stewart

9. If you were on death row, what would you choose for your last meal?

Chicken wings and shrimp.

10. What quote would you want printed with your obituary?

"Lived hard, worked hard and enjoyed life."

11. What's your favourite thing to do to unwind?

I'm a real sports fanatic. If I can get out and watch my daughters play soccer that really unwinds me. Or any sporting activity - if I can get out and play a little squash, if I can get out and play some hockey on an outdoor rink, play a little tennis, that kind of thing.

12. What's your favourite thing to do in Prince George?

There's not many sporting events that I don't want to go to. The other thing is I like to drive around Prince George, I like to take a look at what's going on in the community and that's a relaxing piece for me, too.

13. What would friends say is your most annoying habit?

That I don't relax enough.

14. If you could have dinner with any three people (living or dead), who would they be?

Winston Churchill, my dad (he's been gone about 17 years) and my mom.

15. What was your first car?

1967 Chevrolet Bel Air

16. Which team do you root for during the FIFA World Cup?

More often than not, Italy

17. Best/worst subject in school?

Worst was a science – chemistry. As for the best, I loved history.

18. Who was your biggest influence as a child?

My dad.

19. What's the best gift you've ever received?

My family: my wife and daughters.

20. What's the most daring thing you've ever done?

I'm not a real daredevil. I think when I was younger I jumped off a rock bluff into the lake, that's probably about it. It was, I don't know, around 25-30 feet up. I'm not a very daring guy, but I remember that pretty distinctly.
