Twelve vehicles involved in accidents

Treacherous road conditions caused by black ice Monday morning on Highway 16 East resulted in reports of three vehicle accidents within 10 minutes, said Cst. Gary Godwin, RCMP media liaison. The accidents involve a total of 11 or 12 vehicles.

Treacherous road conditions caused by black ice Monday morning on Highway 16 East resulted in reports of three vehicle accidents within 10 minutes, said Cst. Gary Godwin, RCMP media liaison.

The accidents involve a total of 11 or 12 vehicles.

At 10:24 a.m. an accident about 35 km east of the Purden Lake Park involved a semi rig and a pickup truck.

At 10:30 a.m. an accident involving three to four vehicles was reported at the Longworth exit, about 40 km east of Purden Lake Park.

At 10:33 a.m. an accident involving six vehicles was reported about one kilometer west of Purden Lake Park. By 11:30 a.m. police were attending this accident where only minor injuries were being reported. Tow trucks were being called, Godwin said.
