Trucker not guilty of dangerous driving causing death

Faces sentencing for obstructing justice for lying to police

A truck driver escaped conviction Tuesday on a charge of dangerous driving causing death in a January 2007 head-on collision that killed a Prince George woman but was found guilty of obstructing justice for lying to police about who was driving the vehicle at the time.

Provincial court judge Ron Tindale found there remained reasonable doubt as to whether Kamran Mohammad's actions were criminal when his semi crossed into the oncoming land Highway 97 South and struck a pickup truck holding Muriel and Richard Johnson.
