Two people are in custody after allegedly stealing a pickup truck and then hitting two RCMP vehicles in an attempt to flee police on Tuesday.
At 6:30 a.m., police received a report that the pickup had gone missing overnight from a Quadrant Crescent home and, at 3:45 p.m., a vehicle matching the description was seen on 20th Avenue.
Several officers were called to the scene but when they attempted to pull the pickup over near the intersection of Queensway and 20th, the driver hit the gas and collided with a fully-marked RCMP vehicle and an unmarked one.
The pickup's two occupants then tried to flee on foot.
The passenger, a 19-year-old man, was arrested following a brief foot chase while a police service dog helped track down the driver, a male youth.
Names of the two were not released.
Both are now in custody until they appear in provincial court later this week.
