Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43 will hold a Support Our Troops Red Shirt Marathon June 26 in Fort George Park.
The event at the picnic shelter is a five-kilometre run or walk from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with proceeds going to Winch House in Vancouver where wounded veterans live while receiving medical care or rehabilitation.
Fondly nicknamed the Miracle on 52nd Street, the Winch House is a renovated townhouse owned by new Chelsea Society and run by the Honour House Society since November, 2009.
Registration, with a fee of $20, begins June 14 at the RCL, 1335 Seventh Ave. and includes a red shirt. Registration can also be done at the event in the park at 9 a.m.
