Trio douses fire, rescues resident

Prince George Fire Rescue is crediting three quick thinking occupants of a Prince George housing complex with dousing a fire and waking up the lone resident of the unit where the blaze began early Tuesday morning.

Fifteen firefighters from three halls were called to the scene in the 1600 block of Victoria Street at 2:49 a.m. but by the time they got there the fire had been extinguished, assistant fire chief Denis Poulin said.

The occupant of the unit where the fire began was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.

Cause of the fire was found to be electrical.
