Alleged gangster Eric James Fike will go to trial before provincial court judge next month on 14 firearms and drug related charges.
A trial expected to last five days will begin March 7 on charges laid against Fike following his arrest on Sept. 24, 2010.
In a statement issued at the time, RCMP said Fike was apprehended as he was attempting to retrieve a bag from a wooded area near the Lower Mud River Bridge that contained two loaded handguns, a submachine gun with ammunition and eight ounces of cocaine.
RCMP said they also seized two additional ounces of cocaine, 159 flaps of heroin, roughly three pounds of marijuana and assorted other drug-related paraphernalia from a Gauthier Road home after executing a search warrant in relation to the investigation.
In the statement, RCMP described Fike as one of the leaders and "original gangster" members of the Game Tight Soldiers (GTS), and added he sports Cross, GTS and OG tattoos indicating he's one of the highest-level members of the gang.
