United Way to Northern B.C. has raised over $68,000 to support non-profit agencies in Prince George from its annual Tree of Lights campaign.

The organization originally set the goal to raise $50,000 for community programming during its 2021 campaign but surpassed that goal by 35 per cent after extending the campaign into the New Year.

The funds raised through the United Way Tree of lights campaign will go towards addressing some of the most pressing issues that the Prince George community faces including the need for social services.

These funds will play a vital role in supporting some of the critical programs that support the most vulnerable in the local community.

“Wow! Thank you, Prince George! This community continues to amaze us. The incredibly generous people and organizations in our Northern BC community always show up when it’s needed for their friends, family, and neighbours. This response to our Tree of Lights campaign truly demonstrates the amazing things we can do together, and through the proceeds from this campaign, the local agencies and people that will be impacted is beyond measure,” said Trista Spencer, Executive Director, United Way of Northern BC.

“Thank you to our sponsors, donors, and supporters for believing in each other, and trusting us to help you maximize the impact we can make right here in Prince George. We are eternally grateful.”

United Way of Northern BC works to improve communities in Northern BC through connecting resources to local needs.
