Five people known to police and the courts are in custody on gun-related charges stemming from a pair of recent traffic stops.

Joshua Darrick Suvee-Forsythe, Sakanisin Scotty Charlie Charlie-Tom, Autumn Angeline Graham and James Kenneth Mason werre arrested on Tues., Nov. 29 when, shortly before 6:30 p.m., Prince George RCMP pulled over a vehicle in the 1100-block of Third Avenue.

While speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, police located a firearm on the floor in the back seat and then located several more weapons during a subsequent search, Prince George RCMP said.

On Thurs., Dec. 1, Jamie Wade Fatum was arrested shortly after 10 a.m. after allegedly trying to speed away from RCMP near Fifth Avenue and Ottawa Street and was then found part way through the intersection at Third Avenue and Queensway.

What appeared to be drug paraphernalia was found in the vehicle and Fatum was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired.

A subsequent search of the vehicle located a loaded firearm on the floor behind the passenger seat as well as suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine, RCMP said.

"These two traffic stops took five known offenders off of our streets, as well as several firearms and a large quantity of drugs," Cpl. Jennifer Cooper said in a press release issued Monday. "Prince George RCMP is committed to disrupting the illicit drug trade in our city, which brings an unacceptable level of violence to our street."
