Tourism Prince George has named Colin Carson as its new CEO.

Carson has worked for the organization for four years in a variety of positions, most recently the manager of sport tourism. Carson's appointment comes after former CEO Tracey McBride resigned after less than two years on the job.

“Growing up in Prince George, I’m extremely passionate about the community and all we have to offer,” Carson said in a press release. “Prince George has been such a huge part of my life and has given me so many opportunities. I’m excited to be in a position where I can continue to live and work in this wonderful city.”

Carson will officially take the reins of the organization on July 1, the first day British Columbia could potentially move to the next stage of its reopening plan.

“There’s a real opportunity right now, during the recovery phases of the pandemic, to leverage our brand and establish Prince George as a premier destination," Carson said. "We have some great new plans that we will be rolling out in the near future.”
