Want to sell, trade or even give away some of your unwanted or preloved stuff, but don't want the hassle of organizing your own garage sale?
Then you'll want to take part in the Junk in the Trunk sale, set for Sat., Oct. 4 in the parking lot of CN Centre, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The sale is an initiative of the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George and REAPS and is an opportunity to promote reuse and recycling so that less unwanted material ends up in the landfill.
"This is the perfect opportunity to unclutter your life," said FFGRD waste diversion program leader Rachael Ryder.
"Your unwanted stuff may be exactly what someone else is looking for. As they say, one person's trash is another's treasure."
Registered participants can sell their items directly from the trunks of their car.
"The idea is to provide a unique opportunity to people who wouldn't normally be able to host their own garage sale or yard sale, those that live in condos, apartments or simply have no yard," Ryder said. "But it's not limited. Anyone who is interested in participating is more than welcome."
To book a stall or to get more information, call REAPS at 250-561-7327 or the FFGRD
at 250-960-4400. There is a $10 donation to book a stall, and left over items can be donated to AimHi.
