Canada West is noticing the stellar play from the UNBC men's soccer keeper.

It was announced on Sept. 25 that Rob Goodey was the number one star ahead of Thompson Rivers' men's soccer midfielder James Fraser and MacEwan men's soccer forward Everett Orgenro. He is the first UNBC male athlete to win the award.

Goodey earned back-to-back six save shutouts against Lethbridge on Sept. 21 (1-0) and against Calgary on Sept. 23 (1-0).

On Sept. 21, the Lethbridge Pronghorns threw a total of 16 shots and seven corners at Goodey while the Calgary Dinos tallied a total of 18 shots against the third-year keeper from Langley. This is the first time

He now sits in the top three for save percentage (.846) and shutouts (3) in Canada West.
