UPDATE: Environment Canada calls off Prince George thunderstorm alerts

The weather agency had warned of rain, high winds and hail

Environment Canada has ended all thunderstorm advisories for Prince George.

The weather agency had warned earlier Saturday of a cluster of severe thunderstorms heading for the city and bringing strong wind gusts, heavy rain and possibly nickel-sized hailstones.  

Sunday’s forecast calls for a mainly cloudy day with a 60 per cent chance of showers and the risk of a thunderstorm. The high should reach 18 C after a low tonight of 7 C.

More clouds are forecast for Monday with a high of !9 C expected and more rain is in store for Tuesday with a 60 per cent chance of showers and the high reaching 19 C.

The sun is expected to return Wednesday-Friday with highs ranging from 16 C Wednesday to 23 C on Thursday and 25 C on Friday.
